Barbie: Margot Robbie's improbable requirement for appearing in the movie

Margot Robbie promised Greta Gerwig that she was willing to "follow her vision" when she was awarded the lead part in "Barbie," with one peculiar but recurring stipulation.

Barbie: the famous doll arrives in the real world

Greta Gerwig, the director of Lady Bird and The Daughters of Doctor March, is now taking on the most well-known doll in history, which Mattel has been selling since 1959. The comedy, which was co-written by Noah Baumbach (Frances Ha, Marriage Story), seems to begin in the idyllic setting of Barbieland, where Barbie (Margot Robbie) and her friends Barbie (Dua Lipa), Barbie (Emma Mackey), Barbie (Nicola Coughlan), or even Barbie (Issa Rae) take advantage of the nice weather and collaborate to create catchy choreographies.

Barbie (Kate McKinnon) visits Barbie (who can no longer levitate and has flat feet) to find out what is wrong with her. Then Barbie tells Barbie to visit the real world. The protagonist eventually arrives at a realm that is much less spectacular and much more brutal after having traveled a great distance with Ken (Ryan Gosling). a society in which the police are present and issues cannot be fixed with the touch of a finger.

Margot Robbie's only condition

Margot Robbie has certainly found a new job to match her talent with Barbie, judging by the film's bizarre teasers. Margot Robbie informed viewers when appearing on the Kelly Clarkson Show that she had no reservations about taking part in Greta Gerwig's feature film, telling her that she would follow "her vision"—but with one stipulation.

On the talk show, the actress spoke about the questions she posed to the director:

"Please, please, please, could we have a dreamhouse where she has a slide that goes from her bedroom to her pool? Because that's my goal in life".

Given that nothing is impossible in Barbieland and that Greta Gerwig has granted it, this request is implausible but logical. Barbie will be seen in theaters starting on July 19, 2023.
